P.R.
Dr. Faris has been so helpful and one of the most empathetic doctors I have ever met. Under her care, I was able to lose 30 pounds, get my hormone health under control, understand my body better and handle my prediabetes risk. She was very respectful of my Mexican heritage, which I had struggled with when other nutritionists wanted me to eat outside of my culture. I highly recommend working with her!
Melissa Chu
I cannot recommend Dr. Faris enough! As a college student living with PCOS, I felt lost and overwhelmed until I met her. She provided me with clear and concise information about my condition and gave me the tools and support I needed to manage my symptoms. Her expertise in culinary medicine has been life-changing for me.

Ready to feel seen, heard, and truly supported?

Thoughtful, science-driven care rooted in real life.
Hi, I’m Dr. Basma Faris — a board-certified OB/GYN, nutrition expert, and the founder of this practice. I’ve spent my career supporting women and people with PCOS through some of the most personal, complex, and often frustrating health challenges — and I’ve seen firsthand how often they’re dismissed, rushed, or given one-size-fits-all advice.
I started this practice to change that.
- Board-certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology
- Certified Culinary Medicine Specialist
- Former Registered Dietitian
- National speaker on PCOS, nutrition, and reproductive health
- Leadership roles in the American College of Culinary Medicine
- B.S. and M.S. degrees in Nutrition Science
My Approach
This isn’t conventional care — and that’s the point. My approach is:

Why I Do This Work
Because you deserve care that’s intelligent, respectful, and centered on you.
Because PCOS, irregular cycles, birth control transitions, fertility journeys, and chronic disease prevention are too important for guesswork.
Because good medicine means treating the whole person — not just managing a diagnosis.
If you’re looking for clear answers, compassionate support, and a partner in your care, you’re in the right place.
Questions? I'm here to help.
This membership is designed for women and people with PCOS or hormonal concerns who want thoughtful, long-term support. You don’t need a formal diagnosis to join. If you’re navigating irregular cycles, transitioning off birth control, trying to conceive, or just want a clearer picture of your health, this is for you. This is for people who are committed to making real, lasting change.
I am licensed and endured to see patients who are located in the following states: CT, NY, NJ, PA, DE, MD, VA, FL, IL, MI, CO & CA.
Your first visit is 60 minutes and includes a deep dive into your health history, previous lab results, current symptoms, and nutrition. During this visit, I will order a personalized panel of labs to get a comprehensive picture of your health. Based on that information, I’ll provide tailored recommendations on nutrition, lifestyle, supplements, and medications, including any necessary prescriptions. It’s a chance for me to understand your story and begin building a care plan that reflects your unique needs and goals.
You can book additional visits at a reduced member rate. The membership is designed to give you steady, proactive support — not limit your access to care.
I don’t bill insurance directly. This allows me to offer longer visits, direct communication, and truly personalized care without the limitations of insurance-based models. You can use HSA/FSA funds, and I can provide a superbill if you’d like to use out-of-network benefits.
The membership is a 12-month commitment. This model is designed for people who are ready to invest in steady, long-term care — not quick fixes. If you're unsure, you're welcome to book a free intro call first.
Yes. My care is weight-inclusive and grounded in respect, not restriction. As a former registered dietitian and certified Culinary Medicine specialist, I approach nutrition with compassion, cultural awareness, and zero shame. We focus on health behaviors, not just numbers.
While I don’t practice functional medicine, I provide holistic care by focusing on the whole person — not just individual symptoms. My approach integrates medical expertise with lifestyle factors like nutrition, movement, and mental well-being to offer balanced, evidence-based care.
Yes, I prescribe all medications, including insulin sensitizers, anti-obesity medications like GLP-1 agonists, contraceptives, and other treatments as appropriate for your health and goals. My goal is to offer a full spectrum of care, using the best available tools to support your health.
By the end of the year, you can expect to have a much clearer understanding of your health, your unique needs, and a tailored plan to address them. This could include:
- Better symptom management: Whether you’re managing PCOS, hormonal irregularities, or other health concerns, we’ll work together to reduce symptoms and improve your quality of life.
- Personalized health plan: A comprehensive strategy that includes nutrition, lifestyle changes, supplements, and medications that work for your body.
- Progress towards your goals: Whether you’re planning for pregnancy, transitioning off birth control, managing a chronic condition, or working towards weight loss, you’ll have a clear path forward.
- Improved relationship with food: I focus on building a healthy, sustainable relationship with food that’s rooted in self-compassion, not restriction or shame. We’ll work to undo the damage of dieting culture and build healthy habits that align with your body’s needs.
- Use of continuous glucose monitors (CGM): For those who are interested and where appropriate, we can explore using a CGM to track blood sugar responses and optimize nutrition choices, especially for weight management or metabolic health.
- Empowerment: Through education and steady support, you’ll feel more confident in understanding your body and making informed decisions about your health.
My goal is to provide lasting change, not temporary fixes, so that you feel empowered to take control of your health for years to come.
After your first year, you can continue as my patient for a low annual fee. This gives you continued access to care, support, and advice as you need it — without needing to renew a full membership.
Yes. Whether you’re planning to conceive soon or simply want to understand your fertility better, we can work together to optimize your health and prepare your body. I also support people with PCOS or cycle issues who may want fertility care in the future.
Yes. While I provide comprehensive virtual care, you’ll still need to see an in-person provider for routine GYN care such as Pap smears, pelvic exams, or procedures that require a physical exam. I’m happy to coordinate with your local OB/GYN or primary care provider to make sure your care is seamless and nothing falls through the cracks.
You can [join the membership] directly or [book a free intro call] to learn more. I’d love to meet you and help you decide if this is the right fit.
